(WKRN) — All-day Thursday, we’ll be looking at “Monuments and Middle Ground,” and one Confederate monument in Nashville that’s caused controversy is located in Centennial Park.

The monument was vandalized in June of 2019, smeared with the words “They were racists” in red paint down its side. Now, the Metro Board of Parks and Recreation is scheduled to discuss plans for its future next Tuesday.

For more on the monument and its future, News 2 spoke with former Metro Councilmenber Ed Kindall, who represented the area of Nashville where the monument is located.
