Newsmaker: AAU World Championships coming to Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Some of the best young basketball players in the country will be coming to Clarksville as the city is hosting the AAU World Championships.

Theresa Harrington, Executive Director of Visit Clarksville, joined News 2 at 11 over the phone with more on what the tournament means for the city.

“We’ll have about 1,500 kids. Add the parents and you’re talking about 2,500 or so coming in…we encourage anybody to come out and watch these young players who may be our next superstars,” Harrington said.
