WEATHER ALERT: Strong storms south of I-40 Saturday

A Marginal Risk (category 1 out of 5) for severe storms is in effect for areas south of I-40. Showers and storms will start to develop late this morning.

Storms will continue through the midday hours and into the early afternoon.

Storms will increase into the afternoon and evening hours. The strongest storms are expected south of I-40.

Storms will start to taper off by 10pm tonight. The main threats will be damaging wind, heavy rain, and even small hail.

Storms will continue Sunday, but severe storms are not expected. Rainfall totals up to 2″ are expected.
