Strong storms to impact morning commute across Middle Tennessee


A line of intense storms will move into Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky from the east Thursday morning. 

The timing of the heaviest rain will be between 6 and 10 a.m.

The early commute will be heavily impacted, producing heavy downpours, lightning, strong winds and a low-end potential of an isolated tornado.

Once the line drifts east to the Cumberland Plateau later in the morning, the severe weather threat ends and much colder air shuttles in on the back side. Temperatures plunge from the 70s to the 50s by evening with a lingering shower around.
