Severe weather threat diminishing

Weather

The severe weather threat for Middle Tennessee has diminished significantly. The Tornado Watch has been canceled for our area. However a few showers and storms are possible later this morning and into the early afternoon.

There is a Marginal Risk (category 1 out of 5) for severe storms east of I-65 and a Slight Risk (category 2 out of 5) for The Plateau. Some of the storms that develop later today could have damaging wind and small hail.

Areas west of I-65 are in the clear and no severe weather is expected.

After 4pm, just showers are expected as much colder air enters the picture.

A cold front will be pushing through and winds will continue to gust to 30+mph. A Wind Advisory is in effect through 7pm east of I-65.

We will see 40s and 50s this evening with temperatures dipping into the 30s and 40s overnight. Highs for your Monday will only be in the mid 60s with sunshine moving in.
