NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) - The current wet weather pattern is expected to continue through the weekend in Middle Tennessee.
Possibly perfect conditions for gardens and lawns, not so much for outdoor activities.
This is all being driven by a "cut-off" area of low pressure. In other words, rather than this system sweeping by, it's taking it's sweet ole time. It may take two to three days for all of the wet weather to exit the region.

Therefore, today through the weekend, expect similar weather. Off and on showers during the morning with several thunderstorms in the afternoon. On a more positive spin, st least you can sing in the rain during CMA Fest.
Another headliner this weekend is the Great Tennessee Air Show. With a thick cloud deck and rain, this is less than idea. Both Saturday and Sunday features scattered storms with downpours and lightning.
There are going to be lulls in the storms, but overall, a sloppy scenario.
Rain is expected to wind down by Monday afternoon. In all, an additional 2-3 inches of rain is expected. Several locations could pick up more.
Due to this potential, the National Weather Service has issued a FLASH FLOOD WATCH for southern Kentucky through Monday morning. This watch can expand as any location, even in middle Tennessee can pick up isolated flooding.

Pockets of ponding and flooding will be possible on area roads. If you come across a roadway completely submerged in water, turn around and take an alternative route.
Past the weekend, the weather turns pleasant with low humidity and sunshine beginning Tuesday.
