Murfreesboro man killed in crash on I-840

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) —A 32-year-old Murfreesboro man was killed early Thursday morning in a crash on Interstate 840 in Williamson County. 

The crash happened just after midnight in a construction zone near the I-65 interchange. 

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported Phillip Booth was driving eastbound in a 1994 GMC pickup truck when he crossed over the center line and crashed into the back of a parked dump truck.

Investigators are working to determine if speed played a role in the crash.

The roadway was closed to traffic until just before 5 a.m. 

No additional information was immediately released.
