At least six cars were damaged after striking a large piece of metal on Interstate 24 in Nashville Wednesday morning.
The damage was reported around 6:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes near the Shelby Avenue exit.
Metro police said the unknown metal object caused flat tires and front-end damge along with busted oil and transmission cases.
No injuries were reported and most of the vehicles had to be towed away.
One westbound lane on the bridge was closed but has since reopened.
