NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Tornado Watches have been canceled except for Franklin County until 1am. However, there is a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for parts of the Plateau until 4am Thursday.

East of I-65 the biggest threat will be gusty damaging winds.

The storms should clear the Cumberland Plateau after midnight.

We still have a High Wind Warning for parts of S. KY and a Wind Advisory for Middle TN until 4am due to wind gusts in excess of at least 50mph. There have been sporadic reports of “non-thunderstorm” wind damage and power outages.

The National Weather Service announced Wednesday high winds damaged the NOAA Weather radio transmitter, causing the frequency in Nashville to currently be off the air.
