Sunday morning house fire in West Nashville

A fire broke out at a home in West Nashville early Sunday.

According to District 19 Fire Chief Jerry Seacrest, the call went out around 6:30 a.m.

When crews arrived at the home on Cherokee Road near Aberdeen Road, they found a car on fire along with the home. The chief said it was not immediately clear which ignited first.

It took crews about 10 minutes to get the fire under control as it had spread from the back of the home through walls and into the attic.

Two adults inside the home made it out safely, said the chief.
