1 killed in crash involving Brentwood patrol car

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WKRN) – At least one person was killed in a crash involving a motorcycle and a Brentwood patrol car Wednesday afternoon.

It happened on Franklin Road near Concord Road.

Police said that 45-year-old Anthony Peters was killed in the crash.

Officers said that Peters was traveling northbound on Franklin Road in the construction zone when his bike crossed the double yellow line and struck the patrol car.

The officer, an 11-year veteran with the force, was transported to the hospital as a precaution but was not injured.

The Brentwood Police Department issued a statement on the crash.

On behalf of the Brentwood Police Department, we would like to offer our condolences to the family of the motorcycle driver killed on Franklin Road today. Brentwood Police Officer Seth Whitt, an 11-year veteran of the department, was transported to the hospital following the crash to be examined, but had no injuries.  The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be investigating and all further inquiries should be directed to its agency.
