A woman crashed her car into a long-time South Nashville grocery store while looking for her lost dog on Friday morning, police say.

The crash happened at Osborne’s Bi-Right on Nolensville Pike around 9:30 a.m.

According to officers on the scene, the woman was looking for her lost dog and heard it had been spotted near the store. When she pulled into the parking lot, she spotted her dog and jumped out of the vehicle forgetting to put it in park.

The car started rolling away. It hit a delivery truck before striking the building.

The woman was cited for failure to exercise due care and driving without insurance. However, she was able to retrieve her dog unharmed.

Both the building and the truck received minor damage.
