Get ready for cold temperatures and some of us could see a wintry mix Friday.

In fact, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for most of Southern KY from noon Friday until 6am Saturday.

It looks like a combination of snow, sleet, and freezing rain will start Friday after lunchtime.  It will impact the evening commute for areas north of Clarksville and the worst of it comes in the evening.  Freezing rain could fall as far south as Dickson.  Otherwise it is just a cold rain for everyone else.

It looks like the wintry weather will wrap up during the early hours of Saturday morning.  We could see a quick coating of snow in Southern KY, but the bigger concern is the ice.

In fact, there could be slick spots not only while the precipitation is falling but also Saturday morning since temps will fall well below freezing.  However, by late morning any icy spots should melt as temperatures warm into the mid 40s for highs.
