Jack Daniel Distillery expanding in Lynchburg

WKRN web staff - LYNCHBURG, Tenn. (WKRN) - Governor Bill Haslam and other state officials announced Wednesday the Jack Daniel Distillery's plans to expand in Lynchburg.

The $140 million investment will be used to construct two new barrelhouses, as well as modify and expand the existing bottling facility to provide additional bottling and shipping capacity to meet future demand.

An estimated 30 new jobs will be created in Moore County due to the expansion.

"Jack Daniel's is a Tennessee tradition that was born in one of Tennessee's smallest counties and had grown into a globally recognized brand. That says a lot about the quality and commitment of Moore County's workforce," Haslam said.

The distillery underwent a separate expansion project less than three years ago. That project created more than 90 jobs and included the addition of stills, barrel warehouses and related infrastructure.

In 2015, more than 275,000 people visited the Tennessee distillery.

Jack Daniel's is known for the world-famous Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey, Gentleman Jack Rare Tennessee Whiskey, Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Tennessee Whiskey, Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey and Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire, among others.
