2.9-magnitude earthquake reported in West Tennessee


RIDGELY, Tenn. (WKRN) — No damage was reported Monday night when an earthquake hit the northwest part of Tennessee.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the 2.9-magnitude earthquake was recorded around 7:30 p.m. about a mile NNW of Ridgely, Tennessee near the Missouri state line.

The earthquake had a depth of about 6.2 miles, the USGS said.

No injuries were reported.
