A belt knife, credit card knives and a sword hidden in a cane are just some of the weapons seized from people trying to enter the Putnam County Justice Center.
That information was released Wednesday morning by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies credited increased security protocols at the Justice Center for helping to prevent these items from making it inside the facility.
The man who tried to sneak the sword inside was already facing felony charges, authorities said.
His intent was not clear and his name has not been released.
Deputies screen somewhere between 500 and 1,200 people entering the Justice Center on a daily basis.
They screened more than 94,000 people in 2018.
