Wednesday will start out windy, warm, and wet with a Wind Advisory in place for wind gusts to 40 mph in Middle Tennessee.

Temps also begin in the 50s and we will see rain that will be heavy at times through the afternoon.

Middle Tennessee could pick up 1 to 1.5 inches of rain. Then, the temps begin to drop by Wednesday evening, and the rain could turn to snow showers as temps fall into the 20s overnight.

The best bet for accumulation will be north and east of Nashville. That area could pick up a quick coating. However, due to all the rain during the day, the biggest concern is widespread icy spots since the temperatures will be crashing.

Please be careful on the roads Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Also, there are more chances for winter precipitation in the days ahead as temperatures continue to be below average.
