A police affidavit says a woman admitted to shooting a man during an attempted robbery in East Nashville Wednesday afternoon.

A 57-year-old man was robbed and seriously wounded around 1:30 p.m. at West Eastland Avenue and McFerrin, near two popular restaurants, Mas Tacos and The Pharmacy.

Officers said the passenger got out and confronted the man at gunpoint before shooting the man once. Police don’t think there is any relationship between the victim and the suspects.

The victim was alert when he was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Some friends of the victim said he is a songwriter visiting from Wisconsin.

Police found the Dodge Avenger when the driver, 23-year-old Keinesa Lillard, stopped on Felicia Street after she fled from officers and was tracked by Metro police’s helicopter, according to an affidavit.
