Nashville man shines in spotlight during Michael Buble concert

Top News

When Andrew Zarrillo and his girlfriend Amanda walked into the Michael Buble concert Sunday night in Georgia they expected to be transported to a bygone era when crooners like Sinatra and Martin were king. They definitely didn’t expect to be part of the show.

Andrew and Amanda, who both work in the hospitality industry in Nashville, were in the spotlight for just a mere two minutes Sunday, but it was two minutes they’ll never forget.

Before Buble started his cover of the aforementioned Sinatra tune “Fly Me to the Moon,” Buble handed the mic over to Andrew.

It isn’t uncommon for Buble to do this during his shows, but it is a little out of the ordinary for the audience member to bring down the house.

Andrew’s girlfriend, Amanda Van Cleve, shared the video with us. It blew us away, too.

Before the song started, Buble asked Andrew if he needed any help.

“I’ve got it,” Andrew said.

“Oh! You’ve got it!” Buble shouted back.

Within the first half-note, Buble knew he’d made the right decision. The singer’s jaw dropped and he just watched casually from the center of the stage as Andrew serenaded the audience…and Amanda.

In the song’s first verse, the lyrics read, “in other words, baby, kiss me.” Immediately after that line, Andrew kissed Amanda. Obviously, the crowd loved it.

The couple told News 2 they were completely caught off guard when Buble handed Andrew the mic, but Amanda said Andrew has been preparing for this.

She told us he’s loved jazz music since he was young and sings every chance he gets. Andrew also attends the Nashville Jazz Workshop.
