Metro K-9 dies month after retirement

The Metro Nashville Police Department says a K-9 that retired last month has died. 

In a tweet, the department said Caine died of a heart condition on Tuesday. He served as Officer Tom Spence’s partner for eight years. 

During his career with Metro police, Caine helped seize 2,300 pounds of marijuana, 47 pounds of cocaine, 20 pounds of meth, one pound of heroin and $1.4 million in cash.
