First-year Titans defensive coordinator Dean Pees informed the team he plans to return for the 2019 season.
In 2018, Tennessee ranked third in the NFL in scoring defense and eighth overall in total defense.
At 69-years-old, his health was in question earlier this year on November 18 when he had to leave in the middle of the team’s game versus the Colts with a medical issue.
He stayed overnight at an Indianapolis hospital for tests but was able to return the following day and didn’t miss a game for the rest of the season.
Pees has 46 years of coaching experience and announced his retirement on January 1, 2018, but decided to return to coaching to be a part of Mike Vrabel’s first staff.
