NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) - All the talk this past week was about wide receiver Corey Davis and how he did not participate in the game against Green Bay.
The good news is he has been in practice this weekend participating in drills. He was on the field Saturday and all-day Sunday.
News 2 was able to talk to him for the first time this weekend and he says he's ready to go Saturday against Tampa Bay.
"I feel good, it feels to get out here and sack these days. I know I missed a few days maintenance days, but it just feels good to get back out here. I'm really excited honestly because I'm tired of going up against these guys and ready to see some new faces some new competition," said Davis.
While there has been no specific reason to why Davis has missed some practices, Head Coach Mike Vrabel said like every player on the roster, there is a plan for him in terms of development and they're sticking with it.
"There is nothing more important than the health of our football players and we're trying to do everything we can to get everyone out there so they can work whether it can be an individual period or some things with the quarterback it's critical with the receiver play and Corey has a plan and we're trying to keep that," said Vrabel.
"I definitely want to come out here every day but I trust the coaches and the training staff and what they have in store for me just have to trust them,” said Davis.
Davis was also asked about participating in the scrimmages against Tampa Bay Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
He sounded excited to get in there and go up against someone besides his own teammates, so he'll get to do that this week.
