NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) - Marcus Mariota spoke today after all the injury confusion from yesterday - specifically what went into the decision to ultimately rule him out for the Titans final game of the regular season.
He clarified to the media that the decision was not solely up to him. He said he wanted to go.
Mariota wasn't happy about his inability to play alongside his guys.
"It sucks, it hurts man when you're not able to be out there with your guys it definitely takes a toll on you, but at the same time I just wanted to be there for my guys and unfortunately I wasn't able to do that," he said. "I'll do anything and everything for my guys and unfortunately I wasn't able to do that with pads on Sunday and you know I did my best to support, and hopefully these guys will continue to grow as a team. Again, it's a privilege to play with these guys and I feel very blessed to be in this locker room."
In talking about his future, the Titans have already picked up Mariota's fifth-year option which means he will be here for next season.
As far as an extension, he said he will leave that up to his agents and his only concern is being the best Tennessee Titan he can be.
