A day after being released by the Tennessee Titans, former 2nd round pick Kevin Dodd has finally spoken.
The 33rd pick of the 2016 Draft put a statement out on Twitter thanking Jon Robinson and the Titans for the opportunity they gave him. He also expressed his appreciation for the town.
“Nashville is a great city, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity.”
As the message went on Dodd made it clear he plans to continue playing football and he may have had some kind of say in his release, “change is never easy, but I am thankful I WAS able to play a role in this decision to move forward and still have control over my football career”.
Dodd endured two foot surgeries in his two seasons with the team and only registered one sack after piling up 12.5 his final season at Clemson.
Wednesday Titans general manager Jon Robinson said the blame for Dodd’s failure to work out in Nashville falls on him, ” Kevin is a good young man. He’s a talented young man, and I take full responsibility for that one. I’ve got to do a better job scouting moving forward.”
The Titans placed Dodd on the Did Not Report list Sunday and released him two days later.
Dodd cleared the waiver wire Wednesday and is now free to sign with any team in the NFL.
