Wayne Simmonds settling into Smashville

Nashville Predators

It has been a whirlwind of a week for new Predator Wayne Simmonds.

He was traded to Nashville exactly one week ago.

The forward joined his new team on the Road in St. Louis and has been traveling ever since. Monday, he said, is his first full day in his new home city.

“I’m going to go pick her (his wife) up from the airport and then you know she’s never been to Nashville which is funny because I know she loves country music so we’re going to do a little bit of a tour today,” said Simmonds. “I played in Los Angeles a while back so I actually got a chance to come here quite a bit, so I know the city a little bit and I love this city. It’s actually one of my favorite road cities to play in, so I look forward to getting to know more about the city and just exploring a little bit.”

Simmonds already played in his first home game in Smashville Friday but had to fly out immediately after the game. So, Tuesday, when the Preds host the Wild at Bridgestone Arena, he will get to go home afterward and sleep in his own bed in his new home.
