Preds win Game 3 in Dallas, lead the series 2-1

Nashville Predators

When you’ve got the best goalie in the world sometimes it happens and it did for the Predators Monday night in Game 3 in Dallas.

Pekka Rinne stole a victory with 40 saves, some of them spectacular, including one in the third period with the game tied at 2-2.

Rinne said, “It would have been 3-2 the other way. It was big at the time. It was a pretty similar play to the one they scored.  It felt good to make that save and then go the other end and we scored a goal.”

“It was unbelievable and we come to just expect that out of him, but when you take a step back and look at how spectacular it is at times, he made some huge saves for us to keep that game in our hands,” said Forward Austin Watson.

And once again the Nashville penalty kill dominated, the Preds even killed off 90 seconds of a 5 on 3 Stars advantage.

“Huge!  Guys have been really good, I don’t know the statistic of the 5 on 3’s or whatever, but I feel like we’ve been really good,” said Forward Filip Forsberg. “We’ve got the right guys out there and Pekka made some great saves as well.”

“It was hard, but I thought penalty killers, Jose, Ellie did an amazing job, Hammer sacrificing their bodies.  Eckie obviously playing with him all the time I know how good he is with his stick and great he is on the PK.  Our forwards sacrificed their body and that’s what you’ve got to have,” said Defenseman P.K. Subban.

With the win, the Preds lead the series 2-1 and reclaim the home-ice advantage.
