Pekka Rinne earned his second shutout of Toronto of the season as the Predators beat the Maple Leafs 3-0 Tuesday night in Nashville.

Rinne beat the Leafs 4-0 in their first matchup and finished Tuesday night with 22 saves including a spectacular series with just over 15 minutes to play and the Predators clinging to a 1-0 lead.

Brian Boyle gave Nashville a 1-0 lead in the first period in a pretty passing sequence with Craig Smith who earned the assist.  For Boyle, it was his 18th goal of the season.

Wayne Simmonds scored his first goal as a Predator in the third period on a gorgeous crossing pass from Ryan Ellis to make it 2-0.

The Leafs pulled the goalie with 3 minutes to play and it only took the Preds one minute to take advantage as Filip Forsberg’s 26th goal of the season was his easiest.

The Predators 3 game win streak is their first since February 1st.
