MTSU beats Missouri for 1st SEC win in over 10 years


COLUMBIA, Mo. (WKRN) – Middle Tennessee State University went on the road to Missouri and left with a 51-45 victory. It was the Blue Raiders’ first win against an SEC opponent since 2005.

The game was a quarterback shootout between MTSU’s Brent Stockstill and Mizzou’s Drew Lock. The two put up nearly identical numbers in the air.

Stockstill was 23/41 with 280 yards and 4 TDs. Lock was 20/40 with 281 yards and 2 TDs.

The win also capped off a big day on the ground from running back I’Tavius Mathers, who rushed for 215 yards and 1 touchdown.

MTSU moves to 5-2 on the season. Their next game is at Florida International University next Saturday.
