NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Titans quarterback Zach Mettenberger knows what is being discussed when it comes to his team and the upcoming draft. He just chooses not to let it get to him.
“You just do your best to kind of ignore it and just worry about yourself,” the quarterback said Saturday. “Really, it’s out of my control. All I can do is take care of myself. I work out, I study the playbook so that when the time comes, if they do bring someone in here I’m ready to compete with them.”
Speaking to the media before the 104.5 The Zone’s SportsFest, Mettenberger said he’s confident with how he stacks up against Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston, one of the top quarterbacks in this year’s draft.
“They are obviously very talented guys. If they were here I think they would say the same thing. If we had to compete out there, I think I’d beat them out,” said Mettenberger.
He also addressed his shoulder that was injured at the end of last season.
“I’m 100 percent,” he said. “I’ve been throwing for a while now, rehabbing and doing everything I can to be as healthy as possible for next season.”
