The 26-5 Bruins earned a date with Temple in Dayton, Ohio on Tuesday night in one of the annual “First Four” games.

The winner plays 6th seeded Maryland Thursday in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Bruins won the OVC regular season championship but fell to Murray State in the conference tournament final giving the Racers the league’s automatic bid and leaving the Bruins at the mercy of the selection committee.

Famed bracketologist Joe Lunardi had the Bruins listed as one of the first four out of the tournament,  but the Bruins got the invite and get another chance to earn their first-ever NCAA tournament win.

The Bruins 26 wins this season included two over rival Lipscomb, one at UCLA and another over Murray State.
