NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – In February, women of the Nashville Fire Department created their first calendar for charity.

And on Friday, News 2 saw how it will help two local organizations.

Firefighters presented two $6,000 checks to Box 55 Association, which provides on-site support for firefighters in the field, and Camp Phoenix, a free summer camp for burn victims.

“It was an honor to be able to do this. I’ve been able to volunteer with Camp Phoenix before, so I’ve been involved with them and see how kids get to enjoy their camp and I know this is going to enable them to keep going and have more kids come in the following years,” said Laura Hitchcox.

A 2017 calendar is currently in the works.
