A driver was killed and her two juvenile passengers were injured in a crash Sunday night in Smyrna.

Smyrna police responded around 10 p.m. to the area of Sam Ridley Parkway in reference to an SUV that almost hit two vehicles and went into a ditch in front of TriStar Stonecrest Medical Center.

Officers located the vehicle in a parking lot in front of the Emergency Room area.

Hospital staff pronounced the driver dead. She was identified as Ashli Nicole Parker, a woman from Murfreesboro.

A 15-year-old passenger was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and was listed in critical condition while an 8-year-old passenger was transported to the same hospital by ambulance and appeared to be stable.

Police said a preliminary investigation showed the passengers were not wearing seatbelts and the driver and 15-year-old were ejected from the vehicle as it rolled through the parking lot.

The incident remains under investigation.
