Woman injured in drive-by shooting while walking dogs in Inglewood

A woman was shot while walking her dogs in her Inglewood neighborhood early Wednesday morning. 

It happened around 12:45 a.m. on Moss Rose Drive near Freemont Avenue.  

Officers arriving at the scene found a woman in the road who had been shot in the back.  

She told Metro police she was walking her dogs when a dark 1990s sedan drove past her, turned around and one of the occupants opened fire.  

She was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.  

Metro police are working to locate the dogs or any potential witnesses to the shooting. 

She described the suspects to police as two black men, one of whom had shoulder-length dreadlocks.  

No additional information was immediately released.
