Woman charged in South Nashville stabbing

News

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A woman charged with stabbing her boyfriend multiple times Tuesday night in South Nashville initially told officers she acted in self-defense, a Metro police report states.

Sarah McAlister, 36, was booked into the Metro jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to an arrest affidavit, Metro police responded Tuesday night to a possible stabbing on Wauford Drive where they found McAlister’s boyfriend with stab wounds to his stomach, shoulder and leg.

The paperwork states McAlister told officers the two got into an argument outside of an apartment on Tampa Drive and, at some point, he got on top of her and beat her, so she pulled out a knife from her back pocket and stabbed him multiple times.

When officers questioned the victim, whose injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, they said he claimed he had fallen on the knife.

Police did not believe either story and McAlister was arrested.

Her bond was set at $7,500.
