Wintry mix, icy roads, snow make driving hazardous in parts of Tennessee and Kentucky


Freezing rain, sleet, and snow are hitting counties west of Nashville.  

Reports are coming in from Dickson, Stewart, Hardin, Montgomery, Humphreys Counties in Tennessee and parts of Kentucky

In Humphreys County, Sheriff Chris Davis reports bridges are icing over countywide. There is sleet in Waverly and McEwan. Davis told News 2 there are 4 crashes and he hopes people stay home.

In Stewart County, many roads are covered with ice and snow. Highway 49 near Bear Spring is closed because a tractor-trailer is blocking both lanes of travel. Problem areas are Highway 79 east of Dover, and Highway 49.  EMA Director Clint Mathis says there are several accidents.  

In Dickson County, Sheriff Jeff Bledsoe reports ice forming trees in the northwest part of the county.

In Montgomery County, power is out at 2,000 homes and businesses. TDOT reports ice is forming on trees in some parts of Clarksville, especially at higher elevations. 

Marion County, Ky. started getting snow this afternoon
