Wine, liquor sales allowed on Independence Day for first time

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) - A new law approved earlier in 2018 now allows alcohol sales on Independence Day.

Prior to 2018, alcohol sales had been prohibited on most holidays, including the Fourth of July.

The new law allows liquor stores to remain open and allows wine sales at Tennessee grocery stores.

Other holidays affected by the new regulations include Labor Day and New Year's Day.
