Magnificent mules from around the state — and some from across the country — are the stars of a show taking place in Columbia this weekend.
News 2 Photojournalist Garrett Arnold takes us behind-at-scenes at Maury County Park to learn more about Mule Day in Columbia!
The city’s hallmark event dates back to 1840 when mule breeders from across the region planned their annual meeting.
Now, it’s a four-day event that draws more than 200,000 people to the city for a celebration featuring food, music, crafts, and, of course, mules.
“It’s a celebration of a time past,” says Ben Tennison, Mule Magazine Editor.
The big Mule Day Parade kicks off Saturday at 11 a.m. with News 2’s Neil Orne as Grand Marshal!
