The Titans look for their fourth straight win Sunday when they visit Buffalo to play the Bills.
The 3-1 Titans are coming off wins over Houston, Jacksonville, and Super Bowl champion Philadelphia in overtime.
The 1-3 Bills are coming off of a 22-0 beating at Green Bay last week.
Look for the Titans to be very aggressive with rookie quarterback Josh Allen. The first round pick has already been sacked 18 times in only four games while throwing four interceptions.
The Titans defensive coordinator is sure to disguise not only his fronts and blitzes but also coverages against him. The Titans are among the league leaders in blitz frequency this season and have 12 sacks this season.
Offensively the Bills rank last, or near it, in virtually every offensive category. That includes yards at just over 200 per game and points at 12 per game.
The Titans offense finally came to life last week against the Eagles, behind 344 yards passing from Marcus Mariota and 161 yards receiving from Corey Davis. It was a coming out for the Titans 2017 first round pick who’s 10 yard TD catch was one of a career high nine for the game.
A key to the outburst was the return of Jack Conklin, giving the Titans their starting offensive line for the first time this season. The 2016 All Pro right tackle missed the first three games while recovering from an ACL injury suffered at New England in the 2017-18 NFL Playoffs.
Meanwhile, Mariota continued to struggle with numbers in his throwing hand from an elbow injury suffered in the opener. He continues to wear “half” of a glove covering his pinky and ring fingers and says he will ditch it as soon as he is comfortable with his grip again.
This game could be won and lost in the Red Zone where the Titans lead the league defensively giving up touchdowns only 20% of the time while the Bills are at a whopping 85%.
The Titans enter the game leading the AFC South at 3-1 along with second place Jacksonville also at 3-1 and facing undefeated Kansas City Sunday.
