The Tennessee Titans came out of the bye week, getting a big win in Dallas on Monday Night Football. So as they say goodbye to the 3 game losing streak, a new challenge is right around the corner.
On Sunday the two-tone-blue will face its toughest opponent this season, as the New England Patriots roll into Nashville.
The Patriots (7-2) left a sour taste in the mouth of Tennessee during the AFC Divisional Playoffs this past season and the Titans are thirsty for a little revenge.
However, this meeting is a little different. That’s because the Titans have four former Pats players on their roster now including Logan Ryan, Malcolm Butler, Dion Lewis and Josh Kline. But the biggest ties include Titans General Manager Jon Robinson and Head Coach, Mike Vrabel.
Vrabel played 8 seasons under Patriots’ Head Coach Bill Belichick, winning three Super Bowls. While the two had a brief falling out after Belichick traded Vrabel to Kansas City, they keep in touch now.
Vrabel even credits his former boss for helping him get into the coaching side of the National Football League.
The Titans will try to feed off of their offensive performance against the Cowboys. In that game, they were able to get the run game open, which opened up opportunities for quarterback Marcus Mariota.
The defense also had one of its best performances of the season, getting to quarterback Dak Prescott four times, and creating turnovers.
That will have to be the recipe for success against the Patriots. Tom Brady is 5-1 against the Titans in the regular season, and if they want to take down one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, they will have to play a near perfect game.
