National Midwifery Week is Sunday, Sept. 30 through Saturday, Oct. 6, and Connectus Midwifery and Women’s Health will mark the week-long occasion with free preventive services and educational events.
“Midwifery is a concept that a lot of people are unfamiliar with entirely or have a misconception about,” Suzanne Hurley, co-CEO of Connectus Health, said. “Our midwifery team is comprised of incredibly knowledgeable certified nurse-midwives who offer a full spectrum of services to women of all ages in our community.”
Throughout the week, Connectus Health will provide free clinical breast exams, breast cancer screenings, mammogram referrals, STD tests and pap smears at its Vine Hill (601 Benton Avenue in Nashville) and Priest Lake (2637 Murfreesboro Pike in Antioch) locations.
Clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Vine Hill; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Priest Lake; and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday at both locations. Walk-ins are welcomed, the Vine Hill Clinic is open on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
