They call it “Country’s Biggest Night,” the 52nd annual CMA Awards is being held Wednesday, Nov. 14. at the Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville and will air on News 2 at 7 p.m. Central.

From 1968 to 1973 the CMAs were broadcast from the Ryman Auditorium.

In the spirit of honoring those who make country music great, we thought we’d re-visit the hallowed halls of the Ryman, the “Mother Church of Country Music.”

It is best known as the home of the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 to 1974 but the building first opened its doors to the public in 1892.

The 52nd annual CMA Awards will take place November 14 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and News 2 has it covered from start to finish.
