The Trigg County Sheriff’s Office issued a warning to citizens that someone had reported an officer impersonation.

According to a post on the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page, someone reported that a silver or light-colored car with blue emergency lights pulled them over early Saturday morning.

The post went on to say that a man driving the unmarked car was not wearing a uniform when he approached the vehicle and asked the driver to step out of the vehicle.

When the driver asked to see the alleged officer’s badge, he walked back to his car and left.

The sheriff’s office states that if a police stop does not feel right for any reason, you can call 911.

The sheriff’s office also asked anyone who knows the driver of the alleged officer impersonator to contact their dispatch at 270-522-8888.
