Legend, pioneer, ambassador are just a few words that can be used to describe “the” voice of the Vols, John Ward. 

His impact on the University of Tennessee went far beyond the broadcast booth, and he is a big reason why the university is what it is today. 

Don’t forget to add mentor to the list. With over 30 years broadcasting football and basketball games for the Vols, Ward shaped and influenced a lot of people.
