Upgrades and cosmetic changes are coming to Vanderbilt athletic facilities according to a release from Athletic Director Malcolm Turner.

Turner expressed the need for upgrades in his introductory press conference.

In the release he cited, “clear and obvious limitations” to Vanderbilt Stadium, but said he would work to make the experience for fans “first-class.”

The video board in the south end zone is set to be removed and the north end zone board will be replaced.

Restroom renovations are on the horizon, too.

Football isn’t the only sport getting a boost.

Turner plans to tackle Memorial Gym by adding state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems and updating locker rooms for the men’s and women’s basketball teams.

Over at Hawkins Field, a brand-new turf will replace the old surface and the scoreboard will face some upgrades.

Finally, Turner said the athletic department is in the final stages of selecting a partner firm to conduct a master facilities plan.

No timeline for the changes has been released.
