Two former managers of a Nashville assisted living center now face criminal charges.

Michael Hampton and Samuel Latham ran the Autumn Hill Assisted Living Center.

They’re accused of stealing money out of residents’ trust accounts. Hampton is also accused of misusing subsidy money given to him by Metro government that was only supposed to be used for operational expenses.

Investigators say when Latham took over operations from Hampton, he put all resident trust accounts in his name and took out $10,000 from the accounts for overseeing and managing fees.

Hampton, 64, was arrested Saturday morning and charged with theft, plus 44 counts of abuse, neglect or exploitation of a vulnerable adult.

Latham, 72, was arrested Friday night for one count of theft.

The ongoing investigation is a joint project of the TBI, the Davidson County DA’s office and investigators from the State Comptroller’s office.
