Police at Tennessee State University are investigating a “prank” social media post Tuesday.  

According to a release, the investigation began after a parent called the university and said her daughter received a group text reporting an active shooter on campus.  

University police conducted a thorough investigation of the claim and determined it was false.  

Police are still investigating the origin of the post. Charges are a possibility.
