Trousdale County man charged in murder of Portland woman

A Hartsville man has been indicted on charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in connection with the weekend killing of a 21-year-old Portland woman.

According to the Trousdale County Sheriff’s Office, a grand jury indicted Benjamen Timothy Carter, 23, on the charges Wednesday.

Deputies said this was connected to the weekend death of 21-year-old Bailey Danielle Donoho, which is under the investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, but no other details were immediately released.

Carter was jailed without bond.
