TriStar Centennial Medical Center celebrates state-of-the-art helipad

New Helipad on TriStar Centennial

The Tristar Centennial Medical Center had its ribbon cutting ceremony today for its brand new helipad.

It is 45 X 45 ft and sits atop the 12th floor of the hospital’s patient tower.

The views of downtown Nashville are breathtaking.

It features a unique heating system to keep ice and snow from accumulating during cold weather and a fire suppression system that utilizes foam instead of water.

This was all done during National EMS Week which is from May 19th through the 25th.

In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate first responders and the important work they do in our nation’s communities.

2019 marks the 45th year our nation has celebrated EMS Week. EMS Week brings together our communities and medical personnel to honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services on medicine’s “front line.”
