On Tuesday night some community members in Music City spoke out against the Supreme Court decision by holding a rally at Legislative Plaza.
The rally was organized by the American Muslim Advisory Council and least eighteen other nonprofit, religious, or civil liberties groups attended the rally, including Mayor David Briley.
Many in attendance said they felt the Supreme Court’s decision was unfair and against constitutional values.
“Just can’t trust a government that isn’t willing to guarantee everyone’s freedom” said Jeffrey Laporte
“We are American Muslim citizens, who pay taxes, who work for this country, and we support this country.” said Ali Nooraddiin, executive director of the Islamic Center of Middle Tennessee
