Investigators have identified the dump truck driver killed in a crash Friday afternoon in Cannon County.
The incident was reported around 3:10 p.m. on U.S. Highway 70 South near Cummings Hollow Road.
According to a crash report released Monday by Tennessee Highway Patrol, 53-year-old Michael A. Alexander was driving the dump truck eastbound when he ran off the road, overcorrected, went across both lanes of travel, then drove off the other side of the road.
The truck rolled and Alexander was thrown from the vehicle.
The Woodbury man did not survive.
Alexander was not wearing a seatbelt, Highway Patrol said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
